Just because Francis Kurkdjian named this fragrance simply Oud doesn’t mean he intended anything ordinary. Subtlety has never been his limitation. Instead, he takes what he calls “the ambergris of the 21st century” and weaves it into a distinctly elegant French composition—civilizing oud’s raw, exotic power until it hums with quiet pleasure, softened like silk beneath the hand.

This is an oud even the most jaded devotee can surrender to. Gently leathery and animalic, it carries the honeyed nuance unique to true oud—here sourced from Laos itself. Bright citrus and peppery facets of elemi resin lend a shimmering lift at the opening, while saffron amplifies the leathered depth of the wood. The base settles into the most tender of companions: supple Atlas cedar, almost jammy in sweetness, and a rich patchouli stripped of any musty excess.
